On March 4, 2016, Vice published an article titled Someone has to die: A Former Member of the UPF on How Insane Australia’s Far-Right Really Are, written by Mariam Koslay.

The article was based on an interview with former United Patriots Front matriarch, Joelle ‘Indie’ Norris.

On May 30, 2016, the Herald Sun published a similar article titled Former United Patriots Front member claims bullying campaign forced her into hiding, written by James Dowling.

The article

Indie Norris handled finance for the anti-Islam group, the United Patriots Front. It took three restraining orders just to get out.

One of Australia’s most infamous anti-Islam groups, the (UPF) is known for rallying against mosques, Islamic immigration, and “the Left.”

The UPF were founded by the self-styled Great Aussie Patriot Shermon Burgess, who later quit to make way for a man who has previously spent 19 months in jail for arson, Blair Cottrell. This is a man who also wants a portrait of Hitler hung in every Australian classroom.

Despite their talent for making headlines, the UPF have real trouble maintaining cohesion. This is an issue we’ve examined before, and it’s the reason a former member named Indie Norris wanted to talk.

Until December Indie handled the UPF’s finances, which is when she became disillusioned and quit. We’re not backing her decision to join in the first place, but Indie’s insights (and leaked screengrabs) paint a fairly illuminating picture of Australia’s far-right.

VICE: Hi Indie, how did you get involved with the United Patriots Front?
Indie Norris: I started following The Great Aussie Patriot group run by Shermon Burgess on Facebook not long after the Lindt Cafe Siege. We began communicating on a daily basis and UPF was born. He asked me to design him a UPF logo and it went from there.

Are you a racist?
A lot of people thought I was, especially right at the beginning. I chose anti-Islam and those who were pro-Islam held me accountable and I was harassed by the left. This harassment pushed me deeper into the UPF, further into the right wing.

So you’re saying you’re not a racist. What then was the initial attraction to groups like Great Aussie Patriot and the UPF?
Because I was led to believe that these guys were there to defend our country and our people. I thought they were going to unite all concerned Australians from all origins and backgrounds, including the Australian Muslims who wanted to speak out against Islamic extremism. I thought they were going to protect and defend the women within the movement. Never in my wildest dreams did I think they were actually a Nazi Cult in disguise who had no respect for women, no emotions, no ability to feel any empathy or compassion towards other Australian people.

What would you say to people the UPF hurt while you were a member?
I would offer my sincerest apologies. I would explain how I had been brainwashed and only exposed to one side of a very complex issue. I wish I had opened my mind and done my own research rather than believe and follow the UPF so blindly. I would also encourage anyone who has attached themselves to a cult to do the same.

What do you believe truly motivates the leaders of UPF?
Ego and power. They want to be bigger and better and influence people regardless of the cause, or the cause people think they’re fighting for.

Do you think that describes all of them or are there some members still working towards their stated goal?
No, most of the people don’t know a lot about politics, or really give a shit. Blair has openly said to me before that he knows nothing about Islam and it’s not his interest. These people are in fear and they’re vulnerable, that puts them in the right-wing barrel.

What was your role with the UPF?
My role was the manager of finances, I handled all of their bookings: transport, flights, accommodation, and I managed their merch store. My other unofficial job was defending the reputations of these leaders to the patriot women, assuring these women that the UPF are not the rapists, arsonists, woman bashers they seem to be.

What was the moment you decided to leave?
When I discovered via Blair that they report to and rely on Jim Saleam for mentoring. Also after many hours on the phone with Blair I gained a great insight into how he actually views women, none of which I felt comfortable with. He has zero emotion. He doesn’t have a heart.

So you left.
Yes, I started testing the waters a little before Christmas. Blair had made it clear that I would be punished brutally for leaving. So I began to build myself an external support base made up of people who I knew would understand. At this point I was still close to one of the guys I’ll call Tom from the UPF. I told him what I was doing.

Tom wanted to test the same waters but was very openly fearful about how Blair would react if he was to find out. So Tom did what any good cult leader’s wingman would do. Over Facebook, he told me he wanted to leave, then took a screenshot of the list of members in the chat and removed himself. He then passed the screenshot on to Ralph and Blair, and my life became a complete and utter shit-storm from there.

What did they do?
It started with threats, and then slanderous videos, articles, and Facebook posts which continue to this day. I have been relocated to a safe house. I spoke to the Australian Federal Police and I had to take out three protection orders. Before me, no one had left the UPF. They’re destroying my credibility so no one will want to follow in my footsteps.

That sounds completely insane.
The whole experience was fucked. When I was still in the group, Ralph Cerminara once asked me for nude photos. Linden Watson threatened my life. Tom made a picture of my five-year-old daughter as a penis and said that he would “scrape the leftover jizz off my chin and feed it to my children for dinner.”

That’s messed up. How do you think the UPF will end?
I was once told by Ralph Cerminara that “someone has to die” for the movement and that it would be him. I believe that Ralph will end up killing someone or himself and framing a Muslim or Antifa person. This isn’t just a vibe, he told me this and it’s scary stuff.

Why are you going public with this sort of stuff?
Because this is all factual information and it’s important people know. They have such a large following and they’re dangerous

My analysis

Joelle ‘Indie’ Norris has had a hard time of it.

She hasn’t always been innocent, but she’s willing to admit to her mistakes.

I’m a firm believer in the principle of condemning the behaviour, not the person.

With those on the political right out for her blood, and those on the political left already untrusting of her, Joelle Norris was eventually welcomed into the open arms of those on the left when they realised her exit from United Patriots Front was in fact genuine.

The left is long known to be people of compassion and tolerance, whereas the right is long known for being a rabid pack of raving lunatics.

Many on the left tread carefully with Joelle Norris.

I was one of them.

Joelle Norris has launched online attacks aimed at myself in the past, back in her days of her being matriarch of the United Patriots Front.

I get over things. I got over her past.

Rather than analyze the behaviour of United Patriots Front members who stalk and harass others, I’m going to tell you who was behind the stalking and harassment of Joelle Norris, and what become of it, and why the same shit people now want to send me back to prison.

Trusting the enemy

It took me a long time to trust Joelle Norris, but eventually I dropped my guard.

Joelle Norris and I began to communicate and share what we knew about our common enemy, Andrew Broderick Wallis.

Her inner knowledge of United Patriots Front and their more disturbed and violent members proved invaluable, and gave me the upper hand against fools like Andrew Wallis who had spent the bulk of the time stalking myself anonymously, like a total coward.

What Andrew Wallis now calls stalking, I call intelligence on the enemy.

Andrew Wallis is quite quick to play the victim you see. He does it all the time. It’s almost child-like how he behaves then shirks any accountability.

Joelle Norris was forced into hiding, having to relocate to a safer place two states away from her home in Queensland.

She began a new life in the town of Maryborough, in rural Victoria.

Receiving many threats from members of United Patriots Front, Joelle Norris sought intervention orders on both Andrew Wallis and Neil Erikson.

As the threats were of a serious and concerning nature, and Joelle Norris being a mother of very young children, Victoria Police took the unusual step of requesting of the court that a warrant for the arrest of Andrew Wallis be issued.

Usually a summons is issued on such matters, but not in this case.

Victoria Police wanted Andrew Wallis and they wanted him fast.

The police got their warrant and the hunt for Andrew Wallis began.

The hunt for innocent Andrew

As Andrew Wallis was frequenting the Geelong area, and I had the Geelong Facebook Page at my disposal, I offered to help sniff Andrew Wallis out and posted the following to the Geelong Facebook Page on March 11, 2016.

That post above, seeking the whereabouts of Andrew Wallis, is where he claims I started the trouble and began stalking him.

That’s his defence mechanism at work. Deny. Blame. Act innocent. Blah blah blah. Keep up Andrew. This is the real world of accountability now.

Andrew Wallis conveniently forgets that he operated a Facebook hate page he launched during July of 2015 titled Slackc-nt, a page which spent a lot of time taking aim at myself.

A page which I have archived for times like now.

The post above was posted to Facebook 9 months after Andrew Wallis launched his Slackc-nt page. He had already been taking aim at myself for that 9 month period.

Or is he suggesting I randomly choose members of United Patriots Front, anonymous mask wearing ones at that, like Andrew Wallis was all along, and decide to stalk them for laughs?

Snap out of it brother. Seriously.

Andrew Wallis can deny his history all he likes. It’s his only defence other than an actual admission of his stalking behaviour unto his many victims.

Andrew Wallis is a compulsive liar who should never be believed nor trusted.

Anyway, back to Joelle Norris.

Both Andrew Wallis and Neil Erikson traveled to Maryborough to defend the orders sought against the pair.

They wasted their time, and the orders sought by Joelle Norris were granted by the court at Maryborough, but that wasn’t the end of the harassment.

Accompanying Andrew Wallis on the journey to Maryborough was his girlfriend, Francine Gumina.

Francine Gumina also goes by the name of Francine Catalini. For this article, I’ll refer to her as I know her.

We will, we will, stalk you

Francine Gumina had a job to do at Maryborough.

She was to film Joelle Norris leaving the court house, and later post the footage to social media to further harass their victim.

Here’s the footage filmed by Francine Gumina of Joelle Norris leaving the Maryborough Magistrates Court.

And that’s the exact same type of stalking behaviour Francine Gumina engaged in with Andrew Wallis, filming myself and a female friend leaving the Geelong Magistrates Court just a week or so later, which was also posted to social media under the title of Dangerous Serial Woman basher Jason Trickey Abuses A Woman And Calls Her A Stupid Bitch.

Because Andrew Wallis and Francine Gumina are the victims in this entire scenario, remember?

The plan to have me charged

I’m useless in prison. There’s no internet. I can’t hold stalkers accountable there.

They needed a plan.

Francine Gumina is the person behind the current accusations that currently sees me before the courts, facing the criminal charge of Breach of a Personal Safety Intervention Order.

That charge could see me returned to prison.

That’s the aim of Francine Gumina after all.

She stalks me. I retaliate… guess what I did wrong?

I advised her “I’d see her in court”, or words to that effect.

And off she went to police to piss and moan I had breached the order she had placed on me, an order to line her up as a victim.

I’d actually blocked her from my life, on social media. Everywhere.

She even admits that in her statement to police.

She’d do anything to impress her stalking masters, the Tsorotes family, and gain a little cred.

Even if it meant having me charged on a trumped up pile of horseshit that she’ll soon learn about at court.

Francine Gumina isn’t the first female to be put up by the Tsorotes family to attempt to land me back into prison.

There’s been other attempts that have all failed.

I’ll tell you about those other attempts another time.

For now we’ll focus on the current situation.

Perhaps it’s mere coincidence that on the very day Francine Gumina visited the Geelong Magistrates Court court to file paperwork to request her intervention order against myself – purely to set herself up as a future victim – I was there at the court myself although Francine Gumina and I never crossed paths.

Francine Gumina spotted me however, and seized upon the opportunity to again hide in the shadows and photograph myself reading paperwork on the court verandah.

I didn’t dress for the occasion. I wasn’t the one dealing with the courts on that day.

I had nobody to impress. I was merely there to accompany a friend.

Francine Gumina was there however, and took this photograph, which was then handed to her stalking masters, the Tsorotes family, manipulated, and again posted to social media, this time at a Facebook page Francine Gumina ran with Andrew Wallis and the Tsorotes family titled Geelong Opinions and Scumbags Exposed.

During 2016, Judicial Registrar Michael Bolte found a member of the Tsorotes family to be involved with the Geelong Opinions and Scumbags Exposed page after being presented evidence by myself at the Geelong Magistrates Court.

The finding led to my pre-school aged child being granted an intervention order against a member of the Tsorotes family.

Francine Gumina outed her own involvement with the Geelong Opinions and Scumbags Exposed page by making a stupid mistake that she’ll learn about in due course rather than here.

A good tactician never plays all their cards up front.

Before you ask why I blame the Tsorotes family again, not only did the courts find them responsible, the following two videos were posted to the Geelong In Historical Pictures page on Facebook around the same time.

The Geelong In Historical Pictures page was created by a member of the Tsorotes family in February of 2014, when they couldn’t bear to see the Geelong Facebook Page enjoying all the limelight and success, and they too had to push their egotistical ways into the picture.

Something Francine Gumina didn’t think through properly prior to running to police to have me charged… I hold evidence of her asking the Keep It Real – Geelong page on Facebook to post the above video.

And if Francine Gumina thinks that’s enough to kick her reputation into the gutter where it belongs, I’ll save the rest for the courtroom.

I’m saving the best for the right moment.

Francine Gumina has no children. She’s in her mid 40’s now, and her days of becoming a mother are possibly behind her.

So Francine Gumina delivers her anger and frustration at those who became parents instead, harming their children.

Folks, these people have no limits to their criminality.

None whatsoever.

Francine, the victim

Francine Gumina is the person behind the accusations that currently sees me before the courts again on the criminal charge of Breach of a Personal Safety Order.

She’s going to have one hell of a hard time living with the belief she’s an innocent victim.

Francine Gumina is far from innocent, and has recently been arrested on similar allegations herself.

She’s expected to soon be charged with multiple breaches of an intervention order herself.

Welcome to the machine, Franny. Welcome to the machine!

Oh, and as for Joelle Norris, she’s found a better life, with United Patriots Front and their sanctum of stalkers and harassers well behind her.

She still cops the odd bit of shit now and then, but nothing like it once was.
