One of Australia’s most experienced television news directors added “woman basher” to his impressive portfolio of skills this past week, but you’d be forgiven if you were one of those who just happened to miss the news…
Executive Editor at Rupert Murdoch’s Sky News, Rob Raschke, resigned his position this past week after entering a plea of guilty to assault at Downing Centre Local Court at Sydney on Wednesday after being arrested the previous evening.
Word is Rob Raschke is due back at court for sentencing on April 11, 2018.
The court also granted an apprehended violence order prohibiting Rob Raschke from assaulting, threatening, stalking, harassing or intimidating his wife or “intentionally or recklessly destroying or damaging any property that belongs to or is in her possession”.
The apprehended violence order further prohibits Rob Raschke from being near his wife or approaching her for at least 12 hours after consuming alcohol or illicit drugs.
Rob Raschke served as director of news at Brisbane for the Seven Network, before being promoted to Seven Network national director of news prior to his move to Sky News.
Err, hang on…
Illicit drugs?
High ranking media folk?
There must be some kind of mistake eh?
Or…
You can safely further assume a comforting silence on the topic of the apparent illicit drug culture among high level managers working in Australian media.
It’s of no coincidence Rob Raschke was employed at the Seven Network around the same time the highly publicised sex and cocaine scandal involving its CEO, Tim Worner broke through media silence.
Welcome to the club shitcunt, you’re welcome.
