Fake news is a term thrown around a lot lately. If you thought the fake news problem was restricted to print media and mistruths sprouted by broadcasters alone, then you’re about to be shocked when you see this video.
Technology named Face2Face, currently in development by researchers at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, and Stanford University allows for real time manipulation of video hosted on the popular video sharing platform, YouTube.

The software is not yet available for public usage. Development team member Matthias Niessner has said the team is “thinking about commercializing it given that we are getting so many requests.”
